A gamified eLearning assessment designed to evaluate learners' knowledge upon completion of watching a Spanish-language television series.
As a portfolio sample, this is just some of the entire breakout activity.
The client is a global company that provides digital course licensing to school districts. This project is part of a listening comprehension unit based on a popular Spanish TV series. Students watch one new episode each week and complete various learning activities along the way. As an alternative to a traditional test, the client requested an interactive activity for the unit's final project. My responsibilities included end-to-end design and development.
I designed and developed this eLearning activity using the ADDIE model and a more iterative/agile approach. After analyzing the target audience and unit objective, I decided to create a breakout activity. I researched and organized the content from Gran Hotel season one. I then completed the design process using backward design. After this step, I consulted with a colleague for feedback before progressing to development.
I developed the activity's first clue using Genially as the authoring tool and used Canva for some of the images. When clue one was ready, three test users attempted the clue. I used their feedback to iterate for a better learning experience and design. I completed the other clues, added the introduction, and created the final solution page using the new iteration. After completing this version, I sent the activity back out to the test users for more feedback. Overall, this resulted in a few iterations and eventually the final product.
